This collection of photos was taken by Leonard Rosenberg during the first concert at Music Inn (July 2, 1950), the weekend the Music Inn opened for the very first time. Alan Lomax hosted the two-day July 4th Folk Music Festival including an afternoon concert held in the Great Room with performances by Lomax, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Reverend Gary Davis. Some of the other participants might have included pianist Dan Burley,
stride & skiffle specialist, and local favorite and square dance entertainer Pops Sweet. |
